Black Picket Fences

Funny how everyone else’s mirrors look shinier than your own. How everyone else’s lives seem easy, comfortable or just plain perfect!  How can you tell though when someones life is not always as it seems.  I come from a “white picket fence” family and background, a happy childhood, a successful career and loving partner, great friends and talents in different areas.  What then is that pressure cloud that hangs above my head hovering, like time on its way to the finish line?  I have only been diagnosed with OCD and BDD two years ago in 2006, when after living in Sydney for a month ALONE for work everything escalated and I honestly felt I was losing control and backing down from life and its challenges. After counseling with a Psychologist and medication (SRI’s) to help with the OCD I finally felt normal going in to summertime.  Two years later, more success, stress and pressure later, I feel once again really close to losing control. So I have decided as a computer geek who spends much time wasted on the net just obsessively surfing, I will write about my issues for my own benefit. I hope those of you who read them either get a laugh out of it, or sympathise with me or even know how I am feeling. My OCD and BDD is not debilitating, I am still 99.9% fully functional, ready to turn it on or off at the drop of a hat. However it’s the lows and the obessive thoughts that have made me paranoid enough to get them out of my own head!
